Does anyone know of a “low profile” car seat that fits a 30 pound toddler? Our first trip as a family in the 944 last weekend had my 6'1" wife pretty crammed into the Front seat and I think I’d have trouble driving if it were behind me. The problem isn’t so much getting the childseat to fit in the seat, the problem is that our current seat pushes my toddler forward (there is a big plastic frame built into the back of the seat). A convertible booster !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! would work for my daughter’s size and looks like it may give us an extra inch or two, which would allow my daughter to be behind me I think. Any input before I walk into target with a tape measure?

How old is your kid? Are they old enough for just a plain booster seat yet?

Here, watch this. Then get the booster if your state still requires something.

I am a complete nazi about making my kids buckle up, but I don’t care if they have their booster or not(it’s more dependent on whether I’m going to be someplace that might get me in trouble if I get caught).

As long as they’re buckled up properly, we’re good.

I don’t think she’s to a booster yet, she’s 2, about 3 feet even and 29 pounds. I think it would solve our problems though!

Really it's not like we will ride around in the 944 that much all together but I would like the option, and I think it would make my wife like the car a little more.

I’m not that surprised they aren’t more effective than a shoulder belt. However, I’m not sure what my wife would think...

Thanks for the link, it's a good watch.

We have these-

They are pretty low profile and really narrow. I can fit three across in my jeep using these. According to my wife, they also have good safety ratings (she is a typical paranoid mother). We have the older version, but they look to be the same for all intents and purposes.

Yeah, 2 is a little young for a booster. They’re great once you get there. I know what you mean about having a car everyone can ride in and getting the wife to like it more. My wife hated my Miata and I’m pretty sure it’s because the kids could never come along.
